Following is a recording of a radio conversation between a US navy ship and the Canadian Coast Guard off the coast of Newfoundland:
U. S. A.: "Please change your direction 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision."
Canada: "Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision."
U. S. A.: "This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course."
Canada: "No. I say again, divert YOUR course."
U. S. A.: "THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER - ENTERPRISE. WE ARE A LARGE WARSHIP OF THE US NAVY. DIVERT YOUR COURSE NOW!"
Canada: "THIS IS A CANADIAN LIGHTHOUSE. UP TO YOU!!"
